Bath and surface repairs in Argyll and Bute

About bath repair in Argyll and Bute

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the next day. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are chips from dropped bottles, tiles or tools and cracks and holes in acrylic baths.

Nearly all the chips we see comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows. Acrylic baths, on the other hand, crack when they flex, often around the taps or the plughole.

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.
