Coloured bath resurfacing in Aspley Heath, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Common call-outs are for a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, across whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for one to two days for a full suite. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Aspley Heath

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before booking

  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Landlord and trade work in Aspley Heath

For anyone letting property in or around Aspley Heath, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Aspley Heath. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Common questions in Aspley Heath

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Do you come to Aspley Heath?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Aspley Heath for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
