About our coloured bath resurfacing in Attercliffe

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can usually put it right, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we are called out for in Attercliffe

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • If travel is included in the price
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included

How to compare quotes

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Attercliffe

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colour-matched on site
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Questions from Attercliffe

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Most customers in Attercliffe get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
