DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Babell

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

For anyone letting property in or around Babell, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Babell. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Natural light rather than flash

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your CH8 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

What you get with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Most jobs done in one visit

What happens on the day

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

FAQs for Babell

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

When to call us in Babell

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Choosing a repair company

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
