What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
Coloured bath resurfacing in Backburn, done in place
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We are frequently asked to fix faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Backburn questions
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?
Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your AB54 postcode.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Can you do the toilet too?
Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Landlord and trade work in Backburn
For anyone letting property in or around Backburn, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Why us?
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- A fixed quote before booking
- Most jobs done in one visit
Read our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
How it works
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Ensure the area is dry

Common problems we fix in Backburn
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.
The things clients normally mention when they call include:
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
What your quote should include
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- How your room will be protected
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from pictures
Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
For a price in Backburn, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
