Coloured bath resurfacing for Birch Hill homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Birch Hill without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured basins, and people most often call us about selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Questions from Birch Hill

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire suite and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What we’re called out for in Birch Hill

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Our hiring checklist

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Birch Hill. What changes the price is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

What we cannot put right

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What happens on the day

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Landlord and trade work in Birch Hill

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
