How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Blockley

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Our technicians work on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Blockley and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes a day or two, depending on how many items. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Questions from Blockley

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

What we are called out for in Blockley

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Common reasons people in Blockley contact us are:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Blockley. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
