Coloured bath resurfacing in Brightside

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Brightside

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Most customers in Brightside get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Questions from Brightside

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Landlord and trade work in Brightside

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brightside use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

If you manage property in Brightside, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Brightside

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
