Britannia: your questions answered

How do I get a price for coloured bath resurfacing in Britannia?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your OL13 postcode.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Can you price it without visiting?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will tell you what will last.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

What affects the price in Britannia

Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • Something in shot to show the size

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Common problems we fix in Britannia

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What to look for in a quote

  • When it can be used again
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

How the visit works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, tidy-up included.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

How to get a price
