Coloured bath resurfacing in Busk

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

Coloured bath resurfacing in Busk, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Busk questions

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow one to two days for a full suite. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Open a window if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

See our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Busk. The price comes down to:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed price

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Common problems we fix in Busk

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • How your room will be protected
  • What preparation is included
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether they match the colour on site
