About our coloured bath resurfacing in Cambridge

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We are frequently asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, in coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Common problems we fix in Cambridge

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What preparation is included
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in Cambridge

Prices start from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Cambridge. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Cambridge, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

FAQs for Cambridge

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

The process

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes one to two days for a full suite, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Get a quote

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Advice

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Cambridge. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • We leave the room as we found it
