Coloured bath resurfacing near Conwy

Coloured bath resurfacing in Conwy without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We are frequently asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, across coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we do, step by step

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the following day.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Landlord and trade work in Conwy

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Common problems we fix in Conwy

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before you book

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How the colour is matched
  • How to care for the finish

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
