Coloured bath resurfacing in Dam Side, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and common reasons people contact us are faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Dam Side and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What affects the price in Dam Side

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

When we would advise against a repair

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Questions from Dam Side

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do you cover the entire of Lancashire?

Everywhere in the UK, Dam Side included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
