Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Dean
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
What to look for in a quote
- If travel is included in the price
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What happens if they find more damage
- Whether a trained technician does the job
Coloured bath resurfacing in Dean, done in place
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you’re dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, we can typically put it right, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays alike.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Honest limits
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Whole bathroom suites
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Coloured basins
- Coloured shower trays
What coloured bath resurfacing costs
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- How many items we do on one visit
- The material
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many areas need work
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your pictures
You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A wider photo showing the entire suite
- Something in shot to show the size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
For landlords and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Dean use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Repair or replace in Dean?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why us?
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Same prices wherever you are

The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Email us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your SO32 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Dean: your questions answered
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
What about the toilet?
Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Can a coloured bath be made white?
Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
