FAQs for Dwyran

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Do you work in Dwyran?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Dwyran. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your LL61 postcode.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Dwyran

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. If you’re dealing with faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can normally put it right.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Dwyran and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the following day.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Dwyran

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How soon you can use it again

Choosing a repair company

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Read our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
