About our coloured bath resurfacing in Ernesettle

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you are dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays alike.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • No extra charge for your area

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes one to two days for a full suite. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

When to call us in Ernesettle

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How to look after the finish
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What preparation is included

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Ernesettle. The price comes down to:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Ernesettle. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Upload a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Ernesettle, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
