Common questions in Gerrans
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Can you turn my avocado bath white?
Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.
What do you need from me?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.
What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Gerrans.
How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Gerrans
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Our repair technicians work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured basins, and the jobs we see most are faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
How to get a fixed quote
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A photo taken from further back
- Natural light rather than flash
To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cornwall and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.
Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Gerrans?
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

How it works
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- We leave everything to cure, generally until the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Should you replace it?
Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why Gerrans customers choose us
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Colour mixed on the day to match

Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
When we would advise against a repair
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
