Repair or replace in Helston?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

The process

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Helston

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your TR13 postcode.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Helston

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • If travel is included in the price
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How to look after the finish
  • What happens if they find more damage

How to compare quotes

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Helston use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cornwall and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
