What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Groes-faen

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can help, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured basins alike.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we’re called out for in Groes-faen

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How the room is protected while they work

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Repair or replace in Groes-faen?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take one to two days for a full suite. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Ask for a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

Groes-faen questions

Are there extra charges for Groes-faen?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Groes-faen. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
