Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Halifax

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Halifax. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How to get a price

Advice

Common questions in Halifax

When can you do it?
