Coloured bath resurfacing in Hartley, done in place

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can help, on coloured basins, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we’re called out for in Hartley

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before booking

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

When we’d advise against a repair

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Hartley: your questions answered

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Advice

Repair or replace in Hartley?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Colour-matched on site
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Take a look at our prices page and bath cost comparison.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash

Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Hartley, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
