How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most clients in New Barn get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in New Barn

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. If you are dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can usually put it right, on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and coloured basins alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for New Barn. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Landlord and trade work in New Barn

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes one to two days for a full suite, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in New Barn?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What prep work is covered
