Coloured bath resurfacing in How Green without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We work on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in How Green and across Kent. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Repairing versus replacing in How Green

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for How Green. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in How Green, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a day or two, depending on how many items.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

How Green questions

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Kent.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including How Green and the rest of Kent. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

When to call us in How Green

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Most people contact us when they notice something like this:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How to care for the finish
