Coloured bath resurfacing in Inchture without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays, and the jobs we see most are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

When to call us in Inchture

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Questions from Inchture

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

If you manage property in Inchture, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Inchture. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Most customers in Inchture get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for one to two days for a full suite. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
