Do you cover Kingsteps?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Kingsteps and the rest of Highland. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

What areas do you cover?

The whole UK, including all of Highland. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Kingsteps

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Kingsteps and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed price

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Common problems we fix in Kingsteps

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How your room will be protected
  • What preparation is included

Our hiring checklist

Landlord and trade work in Kingsteps

For anyone letting property in or around Kingsteps, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why Kingsteps customers choose us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • No need to remove anything

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
