Coloured bath resurfacing for Kirklington homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Kirklington without replacing anything

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you are dealing with a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can normally put it right.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Kirklington as everywhere else we work. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Kirklington. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole suite, we can give you a fixed quote.

The process

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Kirklington as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

When a repair is not the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kirklington: your questions answered

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What happens after I send pictures?

We come back with a fixed price, usually with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Common problems we fix in Kirklington

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
