Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Lavernock

Coloured bath resurfacing in Lavernock, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and coloured basins.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What we are called out for in Lavernock

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Most people contact us when they notice something like this:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Choosing a repair company

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Take a look at our prices page and bath cost comparison.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Email us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your CF64 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Lavernock

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Questions from Lavernock

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
