Repairing versus replacing in Lea Hall

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Common questions in Lea Hall

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Do you work in Lea Hall?

We do. We send a technician to Lea Hall for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Lea Hall. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the whole suite
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

If you are in Lea Hall and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Landlord and trade work in Lea Hall

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
