Coloured bath resurfacing for Listoft homes

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Listoft

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Whether it’s a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can normally put it right, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Listoft?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

How to compare quotes

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire suite

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Questions from Listoft

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire suite and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Listoft. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why Listoft customers choose us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Colour-matched on site
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
