How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Llanfaes

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We regularly repair coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Llanfaes and across Isle of Anglesey. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Llanfaes

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before you book

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What prep work is covered
  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
