Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Loders

Coloured bath resurfacing in Loders without replacing anything

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can help, on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins alike.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Loders as everywhere else we work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Questions from Loders

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your DT6 postcode.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Dorset. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Do you come to Loders?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Loders and the rest of Dorset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Are there extra charges for Loders?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What we are called out for in Loders

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What to look for in a quote

  • How long it needs to cure
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Who turns up on the day

Choosing a repair company

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. You can expect it to take one to two days for a full suite, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One picture of the whole suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire suite, we can give you a fixed quote.
