Loggerheads questions

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Loggerheads and the rest of Shropshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Loggerheads

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can help, on coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A picture taken from further back

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What we are called out for in Loggerheads

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Comparing quotes

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Choosing a repair company

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • One price list for the entire UK

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
