How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Longcause

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can help, whatever the material.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the whole suite
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Longcause

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The things customers generally mention when they call include:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before you book anyone

  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Landlords, agents and businesses in Longcause

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Devon and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. You can expect it to take one to two days for a full suite, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

How to get a price
