When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Ludgvan

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, we can help, whatever the material.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cornwall. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A fixed quote before booking

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Ludgvan

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

10 questions to ask before booking

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Cornwall and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

FAQs for Ludgvan

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Do you come to Ludgvan?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Ludgvan and the rest of Cornwall. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
