Coloured bath resurfacing near Maidenhead

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Maidenhead

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Our repair technicians work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and people most often call us about a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Before and after: an old basin refinished to bright white

When to call us in Maidenhead

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People generally call us when they notice one of these:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before you book anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

How to compare quotes

What a repair cannot fix

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

Maidenhead questions

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Maidenhead. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A photo taken from further back

For a price in Maidenhead, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

Read our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
