Landlords, agents and businesses in Margam

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why book with us

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What we cannot put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

What affects the price in Margam

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What we are called out for in Margam

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Look out for these signs:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • How your room will be protected
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • What happens if they find more damage
