Bath repair near Margam

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which usually takes a few hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the following day.

How to prepare

Bath repair in Margam, done in place

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s a kit repair that didn’t last and chips caused by builders, we can normally put it right.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Why us?

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Questions from Margam

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Are there extra charges for Margam?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally within a day, depending on the repair.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Landlord and trade work in Margam

For anyone letting property in or around Margam, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

How to care for the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Store metal items away from the bath

There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Margam. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Details of any past repairs

If you’re in Margam and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
