About our coloured bath resurfacing in Morden

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. If you’re dealing with faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can usually put it right, on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins alike.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take one to two days for a full suite. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Same prices wherever you are

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Morden. The price comes down to:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Morden, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Common problems we fix in Morden

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before you book

  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How your room will be protected
  • Who will actually do the work

Common questions in Morden

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Morden included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed quote. There is no obligation to book.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
