How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Mount Hawke

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. If you’re dealing with faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can normally put it right, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Mount Hawke use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What kind of damage it is

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material

Most clients in Mount Hawke get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What we’re called out for in Mount Hawke

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Comparing quotes

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What aftercare is recommended

Repair or replace in Mount Hawke?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Mount Hawke questions

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Are there extra charges for Mount Hawke?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
