Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Newent

Coloured bath resurfacing in Newent, done in place

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Advice

Repairing versus replacing in Newent

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we’re called out for in Newent

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

How to compare quotes

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Newent: your questions answered

How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Newent?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Do you work in Newent?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Newent and the rest of Gloucestershire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Gloucestershire.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
