Coloured bath resurfacing for Penprysg homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Penprysg

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Before and after: an old basin refinished to bright white

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why Penprysg clients choose us

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Common questions in Penprysg

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Do you come to Penprysg?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Penprysg. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

When to call us in Penprysg

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before you book anyone

  • Who will actually do the work
  • What preparation is included
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

What affects the price in Penprysg

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
