Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Penrhys

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We are often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, across coloured basins, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Repair or replace in Penrhys?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • No extra charge for your area
  • One visit for most repairs
  • No need to remove anything

See our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

Common questions in Penrhys

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you work in Penrhys?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Penrhys for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What areas do you cover?

All of Rhondda Cynon Taff, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

What we are called out for in Penrhys

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
