Coloured bath resurfacing in Red Row

Coloured bath resurfacing in Red Row without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can typically put it right, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we can’t put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we work on in Red Row

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

What affects the price in Red Row

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Red Row. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your NE61 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the area is dry

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Red Row as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Repairing versus replacing in Red Row

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What we are called out for in Red Row

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • When it can be used again
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

FAQs for Red Row

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Northumberland.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.
