Coloured bath resurfacing in Redmile

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Redmile

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour, on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How to compare quotes

When a repair isn’t the answer

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Redmile: your questions answered

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Redmile. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why book with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit

How the visit works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your NG13 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Advice

What affects the price in Redmile

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Redmile. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
