Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the whole suite
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Rock, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re often asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The process

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a day or two, depending on how many items, including clearing up.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

What we are called out for in Rock

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why Rock customers choose us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Rock

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Do you work in Rock?

We do. We send a technician to Rock for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How do I get a price for coloured bath resurfacing in Rock?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your DY14 postcode.

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
