About our coloured bath resurfacing in Scatness

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Common call-outs are for a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and coloured basins.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we can’t put right

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

  • How your room will be protected

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in Scatness

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
