Common questions in Sedgley

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Sedgley included. Travel is included in the price.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Sedgley

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can help, whatever the material.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Sedgley

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • How the colour is matched
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What preparation is included

Choosing a repair company

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
