Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Shader

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and coloured basins, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Shader and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we can’t put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Shader: your questions answered

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you cover the entire of Na h-Eileanan Siar?

All of Na h-Eileanan Siar, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Repairing versus replacing in Shader

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why Shader clients choose us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
