I’m a tenant. Can you help?

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Shepway

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What affects the price in Shepway

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Shepway. The price depends on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Natural light rather than flash

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Common problems we fix in Shepway

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before you book

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How to look after the finish

Choosing a repair company

Landlord and trade work in Shepway

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Shepway as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a day or two, depending on how many items, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Advice

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
