How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Shoreham

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays alike.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Shoreham and across Kent. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Shoreham questions

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Common problems we fix in Shoreham

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Customers normally contact us about:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How to care for the finish

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Shoreham. The price reflects:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
